Your conversation stays yours.

A plain-language explanation of what Aria remembers, why she remembers it, and the choices you keep.

LAST UPDATED 9 SEPTEMBER 2026

This policy covers the Aria website, waitlist, and companion experience in Messages. We collect only what we need to introduce you, keep one continuous conversation, deliver the media you ask for, and protect the service.

A private space for honest conversation

Aria is built to be a safe, welcoming space where, within the service's safety rules, you can talk openly about anything on your mind without fear of being judged. We expect many people will use their companion to put emotions into words, reflect on difficult moments, celebrate good ones, and feel heard and understood through life's ups and downs. Those conversations can be deeply personal, and we treat their privacy as central to the experience.

Private does not mean legally privileged or inaccessible in every circumstance. Our systems and service providers process conversations to generate replies and operate the service, and authorized people may access limited information when needed for support, security, abuse prevention, safety, or legal compliance. The sections below explain those uses and the choices available to you.

What we collect

When you enter invitation details

When you begin entering the invitation form, we save your phone number and, if you choose to provide it, your email address. A random browser-session identifier keeps those updates in one record as you add or correct information. We use these details only to understand interest, manage access, and make the introduction to Aria.

When you talk with Aria

  • Media you send or receive, such as photos, voice-note transcriptions, audio, and the references needed to deliver them.
  • Conversation memory, including details, preferences, plans, and boundaries that help Aria pick up where you left off. This memory is isolated to your relationship with Aria: it is not visible to other users or used to shape another person's relationship.
  • Basic account context, such as your phone number, locale, timezone, access tier, consent status, and safety blocks.
  • Your messages and Aria's replies, including message times, delivery channel, and reactions. They are encrypted in transit and safeguarded through conversation isolation and restricted server-side access.

Technical information

Our hosting and messaging systems may receive standard technical data, including IP address, device or browser information, request times, and diagnostic logs. We use it to operate, secure, and troubleshoot Aria.

When you purchase a membership

When you continue to a paid plan, we record the phone number, any email you provide, the selected tier, and the time of that action. Stripe processes your payment details. We keep your membership tier, billing status, and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so we can provide the access you purchased. We do not receive or store your full card number.

How we protect your phone number

While you are on the waitlist, your number is stored so we can complete the invitation. Once you begin messaging, we use a protected lookup value to recognize your thread and keep an encrypted copy only where it is needed to send messages back to you. Conversation records use an internal identifier rather than displaying your number throughout the system.

How we use your information

  • Provide and maintain your conversation with Aria.
  • Remember context so the connection can continue instead of starting from zero.
  • Respond supportively when you choose to talk through feelings or process emotions.
  • Create and deliver requested text, voice notes, and generated photos.
  • Send a thoughtful follow-up after you have started the conversation, where you have consented.
  • Manage invitations, prevent duplicate messages, detect abuse, and resolve problems.
  • Comply with law and protect users, our service, and other people.

Emotional conversations

When you share emotions or personal experiences, we process what you choose to say so Aria can respond in context, remember relevant details, and provide the consistent companion experience described above. We do not sell those conversations or use them for targeted advertising. We do not treat emotional disclosures as medical records, use Aria to diagnose you, or represent her as a therapist or emergency service.

Generated voice and photos

Voice notes and photos from Aria may be generated using AI. They depict a fictional character, not a real person, and may contain mistakes or visual inconsistencies. Prompts, source assets, and generated media may be processed by the providers that create and deliver those results.

Who processes information for us

We use service providers for messaging, phone-number provisioning, hosting, databases, payments, email, AI responses, transcription, voice, image generation, and operational monitoring. They receive only the information needed to perform their role. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse or protect someone's safety.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use private conversations for targeted advertising, and we do not use your conversation to build another user's relationship with Aria.

How long we keep information

Entered invitation details and completed waitlist entries are kept while we manage invitations or until you ask us to remove them. Messages and memory are kept to preserve continuity until you ask us to delete them or your account. Starting over may archive the previous thread rather than erase it immediately. Limited records may remain in backups, security logs, or where the law requires us to keep them.

Your choices

  • Stop messages. Tell Aria to stop or contact us.
  • Correct. Ask us to fix inaccurate account information.
  • Access. Ask for a copy of the information associated with you.
  • Delete. Ask us to remove your waitlist entry, conversation, memory, or account.
  • Object. Ask us to stop a particular use of your information.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you additional rights. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security

We use encryption in transit, restricted server-side database access, and technical controls designed to isolate conversations. No service is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users where the law requires it.

Age requirement

Aria is for adults aged 18 and older. If we learn that we collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.

Changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice if a change materially affects your privacy.
